This is where Tevfik Fikret passed away. Beaten by diabetes on August 19th, 1915, only at the age of 48, Fikret drew his last breath in his beloved Aşiyan.
One of the major works exhibited in the bedroom is the facial reconstruction of the poet. This is the first death mask ever made in Turkey and it was created and modeled from Fikret’s face by the first female Turkish painter Mihri Müşfik right after the poet’s death.
The bedroom features a magnificent view overlooking the Bosphorus. Positioned over the Göksu and the Karasu, Aşiyan’s location show how spiritually subtle Fikret was while choosing this particular place.
